Our Founder
Syed Abdul Rahman Bin Shaik Alkaff
Masjid Alkaff Upper Serangoon was founded by Syed Abdul Rahman Bin Shaik Alkaff who was the head of the Alkaff family at that time.
Syed Abdul Rahman Bin Shaik Alkaff was the first to arrive in Singapore from the Dutch East Indies (presently Indonesia).
Originally from Hadrahmaut, Yemen, the Alkaff family can trace its origins back to Sayyidina Ali Bin Abu Talib, the husband of Sayyidatina Fatimah Binte Muhammad who is the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
